SURF! Busway & Rapid Transit Project Recieves Recognition from the California Association of Councils of Governments.
To relieve the grinding commute drivers endure daily as they travel to and from work on the Monterey Peninsula, a new bus rapid transit project is being planned in a slightly unusual place – a railway corridor that runs parallel to Highway 1.
Dubbed the SURF!, the proposed busway is part of a regional effort to lift buses out of the bumper-to-bumper line-up that make them no faster than single-occupancy vehicles.
